Acer Teases Quad-Core 10-inch Iconia Tab with Android 4.0 at CES

LAS VEGAS ? Acer showed off some new tricks at its press conference for the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show today. On the docket for the new year were larger-than-ever Ultrabooks and a cloud service that shares photos and documents with Android devices. The biggest splash however is a brief tease of a new 10-inch Iconia tablet running the latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich.

Though the slate tablet made just a cameo appearance and we don?t know its full name, ?what we do know is that the 10-inch tablet will sport a quad-core Tegra 3 CPU capable of playing back 1080p video. ?During it?s terse appearance, Acer representatives showcased the tablet playing back crisp-looking video at a stutter-free frame rate. All the more convenient that the slate also boasts an HDMI out port for wiring out HD video.

As you can see in our gallery images below, the screen was fairly bright and the back of the notebook boasts a clean-looking matte finish. To see even more of Acer?s upcoming Android tablet, be sure to check out our upcoming hands on video.
