JASPAR and AVnu Alliance collaborate on in-car networking

AVnu Alliance, the industry consortium that certifies Audio Video Bridging (AVB) products for interoperability and Japan Automotive Software Platform and Architecture (JASPAR), the collective voice for its Japanese automotive member companies to advance global industry standards, have entered into a liaison agreement to collaborate on automotive Ethernet standards for in-vehicle networking.

With this collaboration, the AVnu Alliance?s Technical Workgroup, which is developing the alliance?s automotive certification program, now teams up with JASPAR?s Next Generation High-Speed In-Vehicle Network Working Group, which defines the requirements for a high-speed Ethernet-based network for infotainment systems and automotive control systems.

By working together to advance AVB protocols such as Stream Reservation Protocol (SRP), traffic shaping, and Precision Time Protocol (PTP), the two alliances aim to reduce integration challenges and development costs for automotive makers, and give them confidence that all parts of the complex automotive network will communicate seamlessly with each other through AVnu Alliance certification.

Bose, LG, Revolabs and Arrive Systems have recently joined the AVnu Alliance.
