Grophland : New fishing features - Virtual Pet List

We've added a whole bunch of new Fishing features today, to hopefully make this activity, already one of the most popular on Grophland, even more enjoyable. From today onwards all fish caught will be tracked. The total number of fish caught will be logged, along with the number of each type of fish that you catch. You can visit the Top Ten room to see the most fish caught, and buy a Catch Book from the fishing shop to see how many of each type of fish you have caught (as well as your own total count.

What's more you can also choose to release each fish as you catch them. A Released fish is thrown back, and a record of how many fish you throw back is also kept. Naturally that count is also logged in your Catch Book, and it has it's own top ten. In addition there are a whole set of new Avatars to reward catching and throwing back your fish.

Some people have already noticed that all caught fish now have a weight, with each fish having a unique weight. When you catch a fish you will see the weight displayed, and you can also check it by clicking on the fish from your Inventory. If you take the fish to the new Fisherman's Wharf in the Docks (it's on the far right) then you can have your fish's weight officially recorded. The best you've weight recorded for each species is logged in your Catch Book, and the best weight caught ever is listed for all to see at the Wharf, good for all sorts of bragging rights!

Finally, for those irritated by all those biting crabs, stinging jellyfish and hostile insects while fishing you can invest in a Fishing Tiki (also from the fishing supply store), which will drive these pests away for good!
