- Hunter Atyia returns for his second season as Union's starting quarterback. Atyia, who also started four games in 2010, completed 137-of-199 passes for 1,668 yards and 14 TDs last season.
- Union's second-leading receiver, Chris Hall, returns after catching 34 passes for 336 yards. Also back is sophomore tailback Terrell Buchannan, who was Union's leading rusher in the playoffs with 323 yards. Blake Mejia leads the offensive line.
- Special teams should be strong again as Austin Butler returns after kicking 42 extra points and six field goals.
- On defense, Oklahoma commit Dalton Rodriguez will lead the line after recording 59 tackles and four sacks in 2011. Also back is linebacker Coleby Evans, who had 107 tackles and returned a fumble for the winning touchdown in the state championship game. He also had an interception in the title game. Other defensive standouts include defensive back Devon Davis and linebacker Cameron Cotton.
